Solar energy
Even though people have been using solar energy for years,
the fact remains that there are a number of misunderstandings about
this kind of energy that people still have.
Some of these myths include:
• Solar energy can only be used in the day time. This is not a
true assumption. Thanks to the fact that some people can connect the
solar energy they collect to the power company’s grid, the solar
energy can be utilized at any time. Also, even if a grid is not used,
many solar energy systems include batteries that store and disperse
the energy at the proper times.
• If there is no sun, there is no solar energy – It is a
fact that the more the solar panels receive direct sunlight, the better
they will be able to create solar energy. But it is not true that it
must be a sunny day to collect this energy. The energy is taken from
the sun’s UV rays, which are omnipresent, even on a cloudy day.
• Solar panels will make my house look ugly – It used to
be that solar energy was created after the huge solar panels on your
home collected the energy. Things have changed in recent years and now
the panels are much smaller. They can be purchased at sizes as small
as 4x6 feet.
Many of these advancements with solar energy have only taken place in
the last few years. As time goes on, the advancements made will also
increase.
