Carbon footprints

Measuring carbon footprints is a relatively new way to go about trying to figure out how environmentally conscious a person is. Carbon footprints basically exist to be able to tell you how much pollution you create from doing the things that you do.

Some people view carbon footprints as a good gauge that allows you to make changes to your lifestyle if you are using too much energy. On the other hand, others view carbon footprints as a good way for environmentalists to shame people into altering the way they live.

There are many factors that are included in determining carbon footprints of people. Some of these factors include:
• Where do you live? If you live in a large home, chances are that your carbon footprints are going to be more detrimental to the environment than they would be if you lived in an apartment building or a four-plex, for example.
• How many bedrooms in your home? The number of bedrooms in a home is important in determining carbon footprints because it helps with the calculation of how much energy is required to accommodate each person in each room of the home or apartment.
• In which area do you live? Some regions are known for being on the forefront of being environmentally friendly, while other regions are notoriously bad at doing the same. For many people, the state in which they live could play a large part in what their carbon footprints are.
There are many other factors, like driving and flying that also will be used to determine peoples’ carbon footprints.
